Justin Tucker was among three kickers who worked out for New York, along with Michael Badgley and Joshua Karty.
Kicking Situation That Keeps Shifting
New York's need at the position has been unstable all summer.
The Jets let go of Nick Folk, who went 28-of-29 on field goals last season, in free agency, then watched Cade York and Jason Sanders both struggle in camp, including a missed field goal and extra point from Sanders in last Friday's preseason game against the Giants.
New York claimed Blake Grupe off waivers from the Colts on Monday, and per The Athletic's Zack Rosenblatt, the team still plans to give Grupe a legitimate chance to win the job even after Wednesday's workout.

Badgley and Karty both saw NFL action in 2025 with mixed results, while Tucker, 36, hasn't appeared in a game since the 2024 season.
Why Tucker Has Been Out Of The League
Tucker's absence goes back to a difficult stretch for the longtime Ravens kicker.
He was released by Baltimore in May 2025 after a league investigation into accusations from more than a dozen massage therapists alleging inappropriate sexual behavior during appointments over several years.
The NFL suspended him 10 games to start last season. Tucker has maintained he did not act inappropriately during any of the sessions in question.

On the field, his resume remains one of the best in league history: a five-time first-team All-Pro, seven-time Pro Bowler, and Super Bowl champion across 13 seasons with the Ravens, ranking third all-time in field goal percentage at 89.1 and 14th in career field goals made with 417.
He also held the record for the longest field goal in NFL history at 66 yards from 2021 until Jacksonville's Cam Little broke it twice last season.
