Colts & Cardinals Potentially Talking Blockbuster Trade

Adam Schefter didn't say the Colts called about Marvin Harrison Jr.

But he didn't shut the idea down either.

Appearing Monday on The Pat McAfee Show, Schefter was asked whether Indianapolis is one of the teams calling Arizona.

"Who's calling on Marvin Harrison Jr.? Colts, Colts are calling? Get him back?" McAfee asked.

"Wouldn't that make a lot of sense?" Schefter answered.

McAfee took it as a yes.

Schefter never confirmed or denied it, and there's no report that the Colts have made an offer or started talks.

Schefter Says Teams Are Doing Their Homework

The Monday exchange followed a Sunday report on Sunday NFL Countdown, where Schefter named Harrison among five players to watch before the November 10 deadline.

"The Cardinals are not all that enthralled with trading him, but other teams are doing their due diligence on Harrison," Schefter said.

"It would not be a surprise if he were traded by November 10th."

ESPN's Dan Graziano wrote that Arizona has "given no indication that they are eager or even interested in trading Harrison."

Harrison caught his first pass of the day Sunday, a 12-yard touchdown from Jacoby Brissett, and didn't catch another in a 36-24 loss to the Giants.

Under new head coach Mike LaFleur, he has 12 targets and five receptions through four games.

He trails Michael Wilson, Trey McBride, and Kendrick Bourne in receiving, and the Cardinals are 1-3.

Charles Robinson of NFL Blue Book reported last week that front offices valued Harrison between a late second-round pick and a third-rounder plus another asset. Harrison is under contract through 2027, with a team option for 2028.

The Colts Fit Is Easy To See

Indianapolis is 2-2 after beating Washington in London.

The Colts are thin at receiver, with Alec Pierce and Keenan Allen both hurt. Harrison's father, the legendary Marvin Harrison Sr., is a Hall of Famer who spent his entire 13-year career with the Colts.

None of that means Indianapolis has made a call.

Schefter's read is that a trade wouldn't surprise him before the deadline. Whether the Colts are the team is still only a hint.
