Philadelphia Eagles Could Trade QB After Surprise Benching
A Quick Fall From The Starting Job
The report arrives just days after the Eagles benched McKee in favor of Joe Milton III for Sunday’s game against the New York Giants, a move that surprised many given that head coach Nick Sirianni had called McKee “our guy” earlier in the week.
McKee took over as the starter after Jalen Hurts was lost for the season, and the Eagles lost all three games he started.
Tanner McKee questionable with rib injury after being a full participant earlier in the week. Wonder if they're preparing to trade him and wouldn't risk injury, if needed to play. #Eagles

He completed 72 of 114 passes for 638 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions across those starts, a 63.2% completion rate.
Philadelphia now sits at 2-6 on a six-game losing streak, with the Giants game coming before a Week 10 bye.
What Comes Next For McKee
Breer tied the Eagles’ list of available players to the losing streak, noting that the slide opens the door to moving some veterans before the deadline.
McKee entered the season as the team’s third quarterback behind Andy Dalton before getting his opportunity, so his path back to the starting role now runs through a quarterback who has never started an NFL game.
#Eagles HC Nick Sirianni was pressed as to why he said Tanner McKee is his starter earlier in the week only for there to be a change to Joe Milton. He implies he did that on purpose to try to confuse the Giants: "I'm gonna tell you what I want to tell you guys." https://t.co/efffisEXLB

With the deadline set for Tuesday, a deal for McKee would have to come together quickly.
