Seahawks Wilson Undergoes Surgery, Out 6-8 Weeks

The Seattle Seahawks will have their work cut out for them as their star quarterback Russell Wilson underwent surgery on a broken finger on Friday and is now on the shelve for six-to-eight weeks.

The injury was sustained during Thursday's loss to the Los Angeles Rams where Wilson's finger was essentially pointing the other way. The surgery was very complicated and the Doctors were surprised with things once they got Wilson's hand opened up. Screws were inserted and now the rehab process begins.

Wilson shared this photo after the procedure:

Seattle is expecting him back this season and the team will now turn to Geno Smith to get it done in Wilson's absence. The next three games the team plays the Pittsburgh Steelers, New Orleans Saints and Jacksonville Jaguars, so there's no doubt both sides of the football are going to need to step up without the superstar behind the helm.
