Philadelphia Eagles Make Huge Decision Regarding QB

The Philadelphia Eagles want to make one thing loud and clear for all to hear - Jalen Hurts is the starting quarterback for game one of the 2022 NFL season.

Somewhere Gardner Minshew is pissed, but in all seriousness this was the news many of us expected. Hurts enjoyed an up and down season that was plagued with injuries and for a quarterback who loves to run, he's going to need to figure out his ankle issues that seem to be popping up year after year.

Eagles general manager Howie Roseman made the announcement on Wednesday regarding his starter and had this to say to reporters:

We talk about Jalen and the growth he had - first-year starter, second-year player - leading this team to the playoffs. Tremendously impressed by his work ethic, his leadership. The last time we talked was during camp, and we said we wanted to see him take the bull by the horn, and he certainly did that. We got to do whatever we can to continue to help him develop. And how do we do that? By surrounding him with really good players. Players continue to grow. That's a huge part of developing, they grow. How they are in their second year is not how they're going to be in Year 4, 5, 6, and 7. They're also products of the people around them, so that's on us to continue to build this team.

The Eagles went 9-8 this season and if you dig a little bit deeper you'll realize they actually only beat one team with a winning record. Look for the team to add some serious talent this offseason as they have three first-round picks in the back pocket and are looking to add some fire power around Hurts and company to do some damage in 2022.
