49ers Bring Back Defensive End

The San Francisco 49ers are bringing back a familiar face, as they have signed Kerry Hyder to a one-year, $1.5 million contract.

With the 49ers during the 2020 season, Hyder was an extremely effective defensive end. In 16 games with the team, he had a notable 8.5 sacks. With this, he will be aiming to carry this success over to his second stint with the team.

The 2021 season wasn't as effective for Hyder, however. He only started in seven of the 15 games he played with the Seattle Seahawks. With that, he had 1.5 sacks, which is obviously far lower than he had with the 49ers the year before.

Nevertheless, Hyder will be aiming to bounce back after a bit of a rough season. Going to a franchise where he had a lot of success should help his chances of doing that.
