NFL Rumors: Julio Jones Finished With The Tennessee Titans

It's one and done for Julio Jones as the veteran wide receiver is getting released by the Tennessee Titans. ESPN's Dianna Russini was the first to report the news.

As per usual, these cuts come down to money and that's certainly the case with Jones. Even after the huge trade with the Atlanta Falcons, the Titans are letting Jones go to save $11.5 million cash and salary-cap space. Moving on from Jones leaves the Titans with $8.4 million in dead money for this upcoming season and next.

In 2021, Jones caught 31 passes for 434 yards and one score, which ended up being the worst season of his career. The long-time Falcons wide out could very well find himself heading back to Atlanta as the team continues to discuss a trade regarding quarterback Deshaun Watson.

If Jones can stay healthy he's still an elite wide out but unfortunately a hamstring injury keeps poking it's ugly head the past two seasons. At 33 years old it's likely the wide receiver signs a one-year deal for his next contract and besides the Falcons, expect to see the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Baltimore Ravens and New England Patriots interested.
