NFL Rumors: Buccaneers Adding Wide Receiver on Multi-Year Deal

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are having an easy time recruiting talent after legendary quarterback Tom Brady is unretiring and suiting up next season. The latest addition in the sunshine state is Russell Gage, a wideout formerly of the Atlanta Falcons, as he signs a three-year contract for $30 million with $20 million guaranteed.

ESPN's Jeremy Fowler was the first to report the news as Gage gives the Bucs a legit number three option behind Mike Evans and Chris Godwin. There's some serious question marks with Godwin coming off an ACL tear, so while Gage is a nice add, expect Tampa Bay to continue to scroll the wide receiver market for further depth.

As for Gage he's a former sixth-round pick in 2018 who has been a consistent weapon for the Falcons. His four years have been a success in hot-lanta and last season he placed second on the team with 770 receiving yards. This coming after a season in 2020 where Gage put up 786 receiving yards, showing he can be relied upon in the offense.

Gage's final few weeks caught the attention of teams in 2021, as Calvin Ridley went down with injury and he lit it up, going for 500 receiving yards in the final six weeks of the season, ranking him in the top-10 in the NFL during this stretch.

With Brady, Gage and several others back in the mix, look for the Buccaneers to continue to add this offseason as everyone is looking for a chance at a ring and there's perhaps no better odds than lining up with Brady on your side.
