A.J. Brown Traded To The Eagles

On Thursday night, it was announced that the Tennessee Titans have traded Wide receiver A.J. Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for the 18th overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft, and a third round pick. Brown has played his entire three year career with the Titans.

The 24-year old is coming off his worse season so far, as he failed to hit the 1000 receiving yard mark for this first time in his career having finished with 869 yards and five touchdowns during the 2021 season. However, an injury did limit Brown to only 13 games.

Brown will be looking to hit 1000+ yards again in the 2022 season with the Eagles. He will be the clear cut number 1 receiver so he should get a lot of targets to reach that feat again.

Like many other top young wide receivers, Brown will be getting a nice pay raise as Ian Rapoport reported after the trade that he is expected to sign a new four-year deal worth around $100 million with $57 million guaranteed.

At this point, the 2020 NFL season was the wide receiver's best as he was selected to play in the Pro Bowl and finished the season with a career-high 1075 yards and 11 TDs.  During his rookie season, he broke onto the scene with 1051 receiving yards and eight touchdowns.

With the 18th pick, the Titans selected wide receiver Treylon Burks out of Arkansas to replace Brown. Burks broke out with Arkansas this year putting up 1104 yards with 11 TDs. He isn't the fastest receiver posting a 4.55 second 40-yard dash at the combine but he makes up for it with smarts.

It seems like both sides are happy as Titans were able to get a replacement for Brown, while the 24-year old was able to cash in on the success he has had to this point.
