NFL Rumors: 49ers Open Up About Deebo Samuel Blockbuster Trade

The rest of the league is going to have to step their games up if they want to have electric wide receiver Deebo Samuel as their newest roster addition. The San Francisco 49ers are making one thing clear to the executives across the NFL.....get ready to pay up.

The Niners have told ESPN's Jeff Darlington they haven't received anything even reasonably close to their asking price after Samuel demanded a trade from the organization. Many expected a deal to go down on day one of the NFL draft but that hasn't been the case at all and now two complete days are over and the soft deadline is surpassed.

It could get ugly as well for Samuel and the organization as 49ers general manager John Lynch admitted he doesn't think he's going to trade the star wide out and doesn't see any team being able to meet the astronomical asking price. It's expected the Niners are asking for a minimum of five draft picks with two in the first round and one young roster player in return. 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan had this to say about the trade talks:

You'll consider anything. You've got a responsibility to help your organization the most you can, but there's no player like Deebo. It's hard to see how that helps your organization. So, you try to look into all the aspects of it and what people are willing to do and nothing was even remotely close that we thought it would be fair for the Niners.

It's a good sign for Samuel that the organization is even acknowledging the trade request publicly which certainly cements the fact negotiations are on going. The 49ers are hoping for common ground, meanwhile Samuel wants out on the next flight. Interesting times in San Fran to stay the very least.
