NFL Rumors: Packers And Steelers Emerging As Potential Trading Partners

Earlier this offseason, the Green Bay Packers traded Davante Adams. As a result of this, they are expected to be looking for a new wide receiver to play with Aaron Rodgers. According to Mike Florio, they could end up calling the Pittsburgh Steelers about Chase Claypool.

Florio also noted that Green Bay has an extra first-round pick that they can now use in a potential swap for Claypool. With the Packers looking to win now, it certainly would make sense to take advantage of the trading asset if it makes them better now.

Claypool just completed his second NFL season with Pittsburgh in 2021. In 15 games with the team, he had two touchdowns, 59 receptions, and 860 yards. The 23-year-old is viewed as having a lot of potential and showed that as a rookie when he recorded nine touchdowns. If acquired by Green Bay, he would have the chance to play with a superstar in Rodgers. That, in turn, could help him get more touchdowns again.

Nevertheless, this is something to keep an eye on as we get deeper into the offseason. Time will tell if these two teams strike a deal, but there's no denying that the potential is at least there.
