NFL Rumors: Panthers And 49ers Emerging As Potential Trading Partners

Since the beginning of the offseason, the Carolina Panthers have been viewed as a potential landing spot for Jimmy Garoppolo. There's now more fuel to this rumor, as according to Jeremy Fowler, Carolina has "done their homework on Garoppolo."

With this report, it's clear that the Panthers are very open to the idea of Jimmy G being their new starting quarterback. It certainly is a position that they need an upgrade, as their current cast of QBs are not the strongest. Yet, if Garoppolo was added to the roster, they would finally have a definite number-one guy.

In 15 games last season, Garoppolo threw 20 touchdowns, 12 interceptions, and 3,810. He also sported a 9-6 record as the club's starter, so overall, it was another solid year for him. However, with the emergence of Trey Lance, Jimmy G's time in San Fran is all but over. Let's see if Carolina ends up winning the sweepstake because of it.
