NFL Rumors: Tyrann Mathieu Visiting The Saints

Free-agent safety Tyrann Mathieu could be returning home to Louisiana.
ESPN's Senior NFL Insider Adam Schefter has reported the Honey Badger is meeting with the Saints today while he's in New Orleans.
Mathieu was born in "Who Dat Nation" and starred at LSU, where he was the SEC Defensive Player of the Year in 2011 and was a finalist for the 2011 Heisman Trophy. New Orleans is in need of a veteran to bulk up their secondary. The Honey Badger is known for his skills on the field and his leadership in the locker room.

The Saints let secondary Marcus Williams walk this free agency to the Baltimore Ravens and be without Malcolm Jenkins, who is set to retire. Mathieu is a three-time Pro-Bowler and recorded 76 tackles, three interceptions, and three fumble recoveries in 2021. Mathieu turns 30 this May and remains one of the top free agents still available.

If the Saints can sign Mathieu, they would be starting a secondary that boasts Mathieu, Marshon Lattimore, and Marcus Maye who has signed this offseason.
