New York Jets Release Pre-Season Star QB

The pre-season is all about getting starters into game shape and chemistry before the season begins, but it also allows fans to have fun with players who may not make the final roster, but can show out and make a big impression on the organization. There were a few pre-season standouts this year, with players like Baltimore's Isaiah Likely, Sam Howell and Lance McCutcheon, but perhaps few had the impact on their teams winning and fanbase like New York Jets QB Chris Streveler.

The former Winnipeg Bluebomber of the CFL has come a long way, and after not being able to find a home, it looked like he had finally found one with the Jets, but after a breakout pre-season, the team wasn't able to find a spot for him with Zach Wilson, Joe Flacco and Mike White, but there's a good chance he can make his way to the Jets practice squad.

His pre-season was strong, completing 73% of his passes, adding a 5:1 Touchdown:INT ratio, and led the Jets to a perfect pre-season record, but unfortunately, it just wasn't enough. Streveler showed that he's an electric player and can make any plays with his legs or his arms, so it's just a matter of time until he's back on an NFL roster, and potentially playing in some meaningful games.
