NFL Rumors: Panthers' Darnold To Miss 4-6 Weeks With Ankle Injury
Carolina Panthers quarterback Sam Darnold is to miss at least four to six weeks with a left ankle injury he sustained on Friday during a preseason game, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Darnold is to get a second opinion with another doctor just to be safe, Rapoport adds.
The 25-year-old back up went down against the Buffalo Bills late in the third quarter on Friday during the Panthers last preseason match. They ended up still winning the game 21 - 0.

Darnold was announced the back up to Baker Mayfield after losing the starting job this summer.
All things considered Darnold and the Panthers are lucky the injury wasn't more severe.
Rookie signal-caller Matt Corral is out for the year with a Lisfranc injury he sustained earlier this month which likely allows P.J Walker to remain on the active 53 man roster when the regular season begins.
Carolina kicks off their season on September, 11th against the Cleveland Browns.
