Packers QB Goes To The House While Aaron Rodgers is Getting Interviewed

A lot has been made of the Aaron Rodgers/Jordan Love story in Green Bay over the past year or two, and while there may be some bad blood behind the scenes, in front of the cameras during their pre-season game against the New Orleans Saints, Aaron Rodgers had nothing but support for his backups. Danny Etling is a career backup in his second stint with the Green Bay Packers, and while he may never get to play significant time in the NFL, this is a highlight reel play that would give anyone confidence.

With the Packers up 13-10 in their pre-season bout against New Orleans, Etling sold a play-action and to his surprise, found nothing but open space in front of him, eventually running all 51 yards for the score. While that's an incredibly exciting play on its own from a relatively unknown Quarterback, it was the reaction of the man being interviewed that really sold this.

The pure elation and happiness on A-Rod's face showed just quite what it meant to Etling to make such a play, and after the interview was over, he shared his happiness with QB3 on the sideline. It was still Jordan Love that played the significant minutes at QB in this game, with a solid outing of 12-24 for 114 yards and a TD, but for someone that isn't going to start anytime soon, this was a fantastic moment.

There's still plenty of doubt around this Green Bay squad, as Aaron Rodgers has no playmakers of note, but if this time of good chemistry continues to radiate around the Packers squad, there's absolutely no reason why they can't win the NFC North in 2022. Ultimately, it was a fun play, made even more exciting by the interview moment with Rodgers, and it's not going to make an end of season highlight reel, but it's a fun moment that will no doubt get fans even more excited for football in 2022.
