Philadelphia Eagles Release Veteran Safety

Jaquiski Tartt is a veteran safety with 7-years of NFL experience for the San Francisco 49ers, and after spending is entire career by the Bay, he made the move this off-season to sign with the Philadelphia Eagles on a one-year deal. Unfortunately, after signing the deal in mid-June, the Eagles have released Tartt, opening him up to continue his NFL career, with a number of teams likely to be interested in such a valuable veteran.

He may not have put up the numbers that other safeties have over that time, with a career 4 sacks and 4 interceptions, but Tartt is a great leader and plays his role, while remaining fairly consistent over his NFL playing days. At 30-years of age, Tartt still has plenty to give at the NFL level, and for teams looking to solidify their secondary and find a leader, he may be the best option.

Any playoff team could find great value with Tartt, and if he can find a one year deal somewhere, he may be one of the most overlooked and best signings of the off-season.
