Steelers QB Drawing Interest On The Trade Market

The focus of the Pittsburgh Steelers team this pre-season has seemingly been all on the Quarterback battle between Kenny Pickett and Mitchell Trubisky, which has yet to be resolved, but there's one other QB on this roster who's been with the Steelers for a few years now. That would be Mason Rudolph, who's been very solid this pre-season, who has gone 26/36 for 220 yards and two Touchdown's so far, but it seems that Pittsburgh has no plans for him other than to be QB3.

According to NFL Insider Ian Rapoport however, there's genuine interest around the league in Rudolph, and with teams out there needing solid backups who could step in and start for them when needed, the market would be very strong if he were to become available. Rudolph has been with the steelers for 5-years now, and has made 10 starts in his career, going 5-4-1, but with the arrival of Pickett as the No. 20 overall pick in the 2022 draft, it was clear that his future was fading in Pittsburgh.

If the Steelers do intend on moving Mason, it won't be for any price, as the market for him could be very strong, but given their two solid QB options at the top of the depth chart, it certainly makes sense if they wanted to get some value out of him before he hits free agency in 2023.
