Arizona Cardinals Extend Linebacker

The Arizona Cardinals are looking to make a deep run in 2022, and after extending Kyler Murray, now is the time to take advantage of their window, and while it's certainly not as rich, today the team have extended another former draft pick of theirs in outside linebacker Markus Golden. Golden was drafted in the second round by the Cardinals back in 2015, and after a stint with the Giants between 2019 and 2020, he returned in 2021 to put up 11 sacks, 4 forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.

This isn't out of the norm however, as Golden has put up double digit sacks three times over the course of his 6 year career thus far, and now, the Cardinals have extended the 31-year old another season, keeping him in Arizona until the end of 2023, with the new deal being worth up to $6.5 million.

The Cardinals defence is going to have to step up in 2022, especially with so many dangerous offensive units in the NFC if they want to have a chance, and Golden appears to be one of the leaders on this unit, and if he can produce the way he did in 2021, there's no telling just how good this team can be.
