Former Head Coach Believes He Deserves Another Shot In The NFL

Jon Gruden has always been a respected name around the NFL, whether it be as a coach or an analyst, but after some leaked emails from a decade ago surfaced with some very unsavoury things said, it was clear that the Las Vegas Raiders had to let him go. Almost a year after being made to resign, Gruden expresses that he feels 'shame' and 'regret' for the emails, which targeted people from Michael Sam, Eric Reid all the way to Demaurice Smith and then Vice President Joe Biden, but feels like he deserves another shot in the NFL.

At this point in time, it's highly unlikely that another team would hire Gruden, as his reputation has taken a massive hit, including being removed from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers ring of honour, but he is reportedly hopeful that he can get another shot as a head coach. As a coach, he's got a great record, and he clearly knows the game from his time in the booth, but the emails certainly were disgraceful, and it's not known at this point whether another team would ever go near him again.

We will have to see whether Gruden genuinely wants a coaching job and if he can be given one in the future, but for right now, it's safe to say that no team in the NFL is desperate enough to sign him after the controversy surrounding him, and the heat it would bring on an organization.
