Jaguars Sign A Pair Of Defensive Linemen

The Jacksonville Jaguars have been one of the worst teams in the league over the past decade, and while they've certainly got some potential, led by generational talent Trevor Lawrence, there's definitely still work to be done. While these aren't earth shattering moves, the Jaguars are still making moves in order to get better ahead of their season opener against the Washington Commanders, and today it involves two pieces to improve the depth and talent along their defensive line.

Adam Gotsis was signed to the roster, after a 3 year stint in Denver followed by time in Jacksonville, his promotion to the active roster shows that this team has faith in him, and if he can provide depth along this line, they may find some success on the defensive side of the ball. In his career, Gotsis has racked up 7 sacks, 161 tackles, three forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries, and while not a star, he certainly knows his role and is good in sticking to it and providing solid production.

Mario Edwards on the other hand is a veteran of 7 seasons in the NFL, and while he's never had a single standout season, he continues to perform on whatever team he plays for, and while he's not going to step in and immediately play a role in 2022, he can definitely earn time through practice performances or an unfortunate injury.

These are two solid moves by a Jaguars franchise desperate for success, and if guys like this can contribute to the team while Trevor Lawrence continues to improve, this could be a solid team in no time.
