New England Patriots QB Removed From Injury List, Cleared For Week 2

The New England Patriots suffered a crushing loss in Week 1 to the division rival Miami Dolphins, and while that news was bad enough, Quarterback Mac Jones wasn't made available to the media following the game due to a back injury. There was plenty of talk throughout the week that while the tests came back negative, the second year QB could potentially miss a week or two of action, but for Pats fans who were potentially fearing an 0-2 start, their chances just got better.

Today, the Patriots took Jones off their injured list, confirming he'll be good to start in Week 2, as the team looks to avoid a terrible start as they battle the tough Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. Jones had a solid rookie campaign, and was elected to the Pro Bowl, but without many of his weapons back in year two, many predicted he would take a step back.

Week 1 was an example of that potentially happening, but he certainly gives this team the best chance to win, and will need to bounce back in a big way this weekend. Pittsburgh are one of the best teams in a stacked AFC, and if they struggle again, the Pats have Baltimore and Green Bay on the horizon, so having Mac Jones is essential for this squad, who could still come up on the losing side of games even with him available.
