Patriots Work Out Former Star Linebacker

The New England Patriots have had an up and down start to the 2022 NFL season, but with Mac Jones leading the way, they were able to pick up their first victory in Week 2 over the Pittsburgh Steelers, getting their season truly under way after a terrible loss to Miami to kick off the campaign. It's a good sign going forward, but this team is still nowhere near the finished product, and if they are to compete in a suddenly very tough and competitive AFC East, they need some more bodies on both sides of the ball.

Today, they looked to potentially fill a hole with an old face, as former Patriots linebacker Jamie Collins visited the organization he started his NFL career with, and while there's been no official signing yet, it's a move that would make complete sense for both sides.

Collins played with New England from 2013-2016, with two separate stints in 2019 and 2021 with the Patriots to follow, and given his production over the years, accumulating 26.5 sacks over that time, he'd be a perfect addition. He alone won't make New England Super Bowl contenders once again, but this is a team with potential, and the addition of a veteran, Super Bowl winner on the defensive side of the ball would no doubt help improve this team as they fight in the AFC for any playoff spot they can find.
