Predicting the AFC West Standings In 2022

The AFC West is easily the toughest division in football, and the argument can be made that it may be the strongest single division at any time in NFL history, and in 2022, it's going to be an absolute dogfight for the number 1 seed. With 4 talented Quarterback's along with some incredible offence's, there's going to be a lot of points put up, and at the end of the year, it may simply come down to who's the healthiest that may come out on top. With that in mind, here are our predictions for the AFC West standings in 2022/23.

4. Las Vegas Raiders

The Las Vegas Raiders have made some great moves over the off-season, giving them a genuine shot at the playoffs in 2022, but with such a tough division ahead of them, they'll be fighting with everything they've got to secure a Wild Card spot. The addition of Davante Adams makes this offence downright un-stoppable, but with a less than stellar defence, they'll struggle to win a lot of shootouts, and while fourth place in a division might look bad, in the AFC West, that's still more than enough to find themselves in a Wild Card spot.

3. Denver Broncos

The Denver Broncos have been a decent QB and a clean bill of health away from being a very good team over the past few seasons, and while the clean bill of health will need to be seen to be believed, they got themselves a stud at QB in Russell Wilson this past off-season. There's still plenty of work to do if this team wants to challenge for an AFC West crown or a Wild Card spot, but with Russ and the amazing receiver core in the Mile High City, this team should be putting up points and winning plenty of games in 2022.

2. Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers are in the best position to take the biggest leap in the NFL this year, as Justin Herbert appears ready to take the leap into genuine superstardom, and with the additions of Khalil Mack and J.C. Jackson to an already dangerous defence, this team is about to be amazing. This progression all hinges on Justin Herbert, and if he can improve the way many expect, this team is a genuine Super Bowl contender, because with stars like Keenan Allen, Joey Bosa, Derwin James, Austin Ekler and others, this team can match up with any all year long.

1. Kansas City Chiefs

Simply put, the Kansas City Chiefs have been the NFL's best team since Patrick Mahomes took over, and even with all the new talent in the division, they remain the most exciting team and the most explosive offence in the AFC. Sure, they traded away Tyreek Hill, but the additions of JuJu Smith-Schuster, Skyy Moore and Marques Valdez-Scantling potentially make this offence more explosive, and if the running backs can turn up to play in 2022, it signals danger for everyone else. Ultimately, to be the best, you've got to beat the best, and until someone can prove that over a season they can keep up with the Chiefs, they'll continue to be the best team in the AFC.
