Two Indianapolis Colts Ruled Out Of Action This Week

The Indianapolis Colts were somewhat favoured in the AFC South to begin the 2022 campaign, and while the Tennessee Titans are full of talent, many believed that with Matt Ryan at the helm, this team was going to take the next step forward. Unfortunately, they were unable to put away the Houston Texans in Week 1, who are considered to be one of, if not the worst teams in the NFL, so more bad news certainly isn't going to be welcomed in Indianapolis.

This week, as Indy look to take on another division rival in the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Colts have ruled out two key players, in linebacker Shaquille Leonard and Alec Pierce, a wide receiver selected in round 2 of the 2022 NFL Draft. With Michael Pittman already questionable for the game, this could severely hurt the teams chances of starting without a win through two weeks, as the offence was stagnant and unable to capitalize late in Week 1.

Leonard is the big loss, as he has been the leader of this defence ever since arriving in Indy, and if Trevor Lawrence can get rolling, this defence, with plenty of injury clouds over them could be in for a long day. Ultimately, it appears that both injuries are going to be short-term, but this Colts team has desires of a playoff spot in 2022, and if they are to get there, they'll have to step up and win big games with key players missing.
