Bills Top Chiefs, Seize Control of AFC

The Buffalo Bills got a taste of revenge in the rematch of their 2021 Divisional Round classic against the Kansas City Chiefs, clawing their way to a 24-20 victory. Bills quarterback Josh Allen outdueled Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes to take the lead in not only the AFC standings but maybe the 2022 MVP race. Allen continued his torrid start to the season, throwing for 318 net yards and three touchdowns while pitching in another 32 yards rushing. He also added the rare fourth-quarter comeback to his young career, tossing the game-winner with a mere 1:09 left in regulation. No one helped him more than All-Pro wide receiver Stefon Diggs, who nabbed 10 of his 13 targets for 148 yards.

The Bills defense also came through in the clutch, forcing a pair of key interceptions against Mahomes. One cost the Chiefs points in the red zone. The other sealed the game on the final drive.  Mahomes may have passed for an impressive 319 net yards, but the Bills will take 20 points allowed in a win any day of the week.
Perhaps no defensive player distinguished himself more than Bills linebacker Von Miller, who notched a pair of sacks and a key pressure on the Chiefs' final offensive play of the game. Miller has been sensational on limited snaps for the Bills, tallying 6.0 sacks in six appearances since joining the team this offseason. The future Hall of Famer still clearly has a knack for big plays in big moments.

With the win, the Bills move to 5-1 ahead of their Week 7 matchup with the Green Bay Packers. Meanwhile, the Chiefs fall to 4-2 with a big game against the San Francisco 49ers looming.
