Browns Defensive End Out For Week 6

The Cleveland Browns season so far has been up and down like no other teams in the NFL, and with the injuries and suspensions to key players, they've struggled to pick up and sustain momentum throughout five weeks, with a 2-3 record that has them sitting at second place in the AFC North behind the Baltimore Ravens. The team today had to announce that star cornerback Denzel Ward will be missing the teams Week 6 matchup with the New England Patriots, but he won't be the only one, as Jadeveon Clowney will miss another game.

In three games this year, Clowney has racked up 10 tackles, 1 forced fumble and 1.5 sacks, and while that's down from his usual production, this Browns defensive line has stood out, and has been very productive as a unit thus far in 2022.

Clowney has racked up 41.5 sacks over his NFL career, including 9 a year ago in his first season with the Browns, and although he's perhaps not the player he once was, he still remains an effective piece, and takes some attention away from the teams star pass rusher, Myles Garrett. Either way, it appears the niggling injuries won't go away for Clowney, and while he's not expected to miss an extended period of time, he won't return in Week 6.
