Buccaneers' Top Pass Rusher Carted to Locker Room

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers find themselves in a close matchup with the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday Night Football, and they'll be without one of their biggest stars for the remainder of the game. Edge rusher Shaquil Barrett exited early in the third quarter with an ankle injury and was promptly declared out.
That the Bucs declared Barrett out so quickly may indicate the injury could cost the pass rusher future games as well. The Ravens scored their first touchdown of the game on the drive Barrett went down. He had notched a sack and three total tackles before his departure. Anthony Nelson replaced him in the lineup.

Barrett's unavailability could hurt the Bucs in what has been a hard-fought, closely contested game. He has been unquestionably the team's top pass rusher since joining the organization in 2019, tallying 39.5 sacks and a pair of Pro Bowls across his 53 appearances.
