Cardinals Release Veteran Tight End

The Arizona Cardinals roster has been through the ringer over the past few months, with injuries and suspensions taking their toll, but through it all, this team has been solid in 2022, posting a 2-2 record through for weeks, ahead of their matchup with the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles in Week 5.

While they got through this past week without another major loss, they did make a release, with veteran tight end Maxx Williams being waived, and with Zach Ertz on the roster and performing well in 2022, it makes sense. The veteran has been in the NFL since 2015, and although he's never been a star, he has certainly been a solid, consistent performer over the years, and will no doubt find a home somewhere else in the NFL.

Over that time, Williams has played with Baltimore and Arizona, and put up 1,000 receiving yards to go along with 6 Touchdowns, and while it won't be a major loss for the Cardinals, Williams is a solid player. He re-signed with Arizona back in March on a one-year deal, and now, the veteran will be searching for his third team in the NFL to give him a shot.
