Chiefs Cornerback Won't Be Activated For Week 7

The Kansas City Chiefs have once again been fantastic on the offensive side of the ball to start 2022 with a solid 4-2 record, but if they want to make it back to the Super Bowl again this year, they'll need to be elite on both sides of the ball. One player who was meant to help with the was 2022 first round pick Trent McDuffie, but after suffering an injury in the teams season opening game, he has yet to be activated from Injured Reserve, and according to reports, that won't happen ahead of the teams Week 7 blockbuster clash with the San Francisco 49ers.

The former Washington standout was expected to go anywhere after pick No. 10 in the 2022 NFL Draft, but he fell to the Chiefs at pick No. 21, and with the speed, athleticism and football IQ that he possesses, he was expected to immediately contribute to this defence. Unfortunately, injuries happen in the NFL, and with a bye week coming up, it makes sense for the Chiefs to hold him out again, with a likely return coming against the Tennessee Titans in Week 9.

The Chiefs defence has been solid thus far in 2022 with the 20th ranked defence, but with such a great offence, if they can get that up into the top-15, this is a team that can no doubt contend for yet another Super Bowl under Patrick Mahomes.
