Lions Punter Signs Huge Extension

The Detroit Lions have simultaneously been one of the more fun teams to watch in the NFL this year, while also being a bad team that can't finish off wins with this amazing offensive unit, and while there's been plenty of positives through six weeks for this young squad, one of the ones that stands out most is their punter, Jack Fox.

Fox has been responsible for helping with plenty of field position battles for this team over the past few years, and with such consistent performances over that time, he has today been rewarded, by being made the highest paid punter in the entire NFL, keeping him in Detroit for a further three-seasons.

The three-year deal comes with an annual value of $3.75 million, with $7.5 million of the overall deal being guaranteed, and while it may seem like a lot for a punter, he's been one of the most consistent in the entire league, and as an RFA after the 2022 season, the Lions wanted to lock him in. The team has plenty of improving to do if they want to be a contender in the near future, but with a lot of young talent on this roster, they are headed in the right direction, and now, they've got their special teams units locked in for years to come.
