Dolphins Cornerback Carted Off the Field

The Miami Dolphins have had some tough injury luck through the first five weeks of the regular season, and things aren't any better so far in Week 6. Cornerback Nik Needham exited in the first half with an ankle injury, and the team quickly declared him out for the remainder of their game against the Minnesota Vikings.
Needham was carted off the field following a tackle with what appeared to be a serious ankle injury. Already without cornerbacks Byron Jones, Kader Kohou, and Trill Williams, the Dolphins will be perilously thin in the secondary for the second half of their game against the Vikings.

Needham has been a critical cog in the Dolphins' defense through five weeks, logging four starts and dominating snaps for the team. He is poised to hit unrestricted free agency this upcoming offseason. Needham joined the Dolphins as an undrafted free agent following the 2019 NFL Draft. He clawed his way to meaningful playing time immediately, notching 11 starts, two interceptions, and 11 passes broken up as a rookie. He has started 26 games in 50 appearances for the team across his first four seasons.
