Jets Activate Tackle From Injured Reserve, Will Return In Week 5

The New York Jets have been a pleasant surprise thus far in 2022, with a 2-2 record highlighted by two amazing comeback wins, and they've done all this despite dealing with significant injuries to the tackle and Quarterback position. Their starter Zach Wilson is now back, but unfortunately, the same can't be said about the tackle position, as George Fant, Mekhi Becton and rookie Max Mitchell are all out, but today, the Jets got some good news on this front.

When Becton went down early in training camp, the team moved to get former Pro Bowl tackle Duane Brown, but shortly after the signing, he too went down with an injury, and was moved to Injured Reserve before the season began. Brown began practicing again this week, and the team had a 21-day window to get him back on the active roster, and they wasted absolutely no time doing so, as he was activated from IR today, signalling that he'll be back in Week 5.

In Week 4, the Jets played second year star guard Alijah Vera-Tucker at left tackle to accommodate for injuries, but now that Brown is back, this offensive line may finally begin to gel, and if the team can give Wilson some time to work in the pocket, we saw what type of magic he can produce in Week 4, so the divisional matchup with the Miami Dolphins is going to be a lot of fun.
