NFL Rumors: Buffalo Bills Have Reached Out To Carolina About Star Running Back

The Buffalo Bills have been an offensive juggernaut thus far in 2022, en route to a 4-1 record and a division lead through five weeks, but if they want to take their postseason success one step further under Josh Allen and this amazing offence, they'll need to find a run game. Sure, in the regular season, there's very few teams with the capability of stopping this team, but in the playoffs, teams have stepped up to Buffalo and knocked them out in recent years, so who could they target to fix this issue?

A source has confirmed to me that the Bills have reached out to the Panthers about running back Christian McCaffrey.

There's plenty of names out there that come to mind, but if the Bills want to swing for the fences, then one name makes more sense than most, and that's Carolina Panthers star running back Christian McCaffrey. While it may just seem like a pipe dream for many, given the potential return for Carolina and their lack of success thus far in 2022, which today led to the head coach being fired, there's a great chance that he gets moved. 

While it may not be to Buffalo, McCaffrey would give this team the firepower they need out of the backfield, and with weapons like Stefon Diggs, Gabe Davis and Dawson Knox already out there, it would make this team close to unbeatable. Only time will tell whether a deal actually gets done, but the Bills have indeed reached out to Carolina, and if the interest is mutual, there's a good chance we can see a deal getting done over the next few weeks.
