NFL Rumors: Commanders Running Back Drawing Interest

The Washington Commanders season has been somewhat of a disappointment thus far, as they have struggled and watched all 3 NFC East teams dominate the competition, but with a big win over Green Bay in Week 7, there's certainly a chance for them to make something out of the 2022 NFL season. One big positive has been the emergence of rookie running back Brian Robinson, who has now taken over the starting role, and now, it's left former 1,000 yard rusher Antonio Gibson as a backup to a struggling team, which makes him a prime candidate for a playoff team at the trade deadline.

The third year back has tallied almost 3,000 all purpose yards in his 2.5 year NFL career, and even with Robinson taking the majority of the carries, he's managed to be very effective in 2022, and the Commanders are now reportedly drawing major interest in the back. We know that teams like Buffalo and Baltimore would like some help in the backfield, but with so many teams still in contention, there's likely a lot of teams calling Washington.

If Robinson is the future in Washington, it makes sense if the Commanders move away from Gibson, as it will help their draft capital going forward, and with just 5 days before the trade deadline, expect to see a bidding war for the talented Gibson.
