Ravens Swipe Linebacker off Giants Practice Squad

A.J. Klein is getting around. After joining the New York Giants practice squad on Monday, the linebacker will apparently sign with the Baltimore Ravens to their 53-man roster Thursday afternoon. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler broke the news. Klein joined the Giants following their 20-12 Week 4 win over the Chicago Bears, but the Ravens offer a clearer route to playing time. They've been disastrous on defense so far this year, allowing the third-most yards in the league and an ugly 5.0 yards per rushing attempt. He'll compete for snaps behind starting linebackers Patrick Queen and Josh Bynes. Klein joins the Ravens after a circuitous first nine years in the league that also included stops with the Carolina Panthers, New Orleans Saints, and Buffalo Bills. He has notched 449 tackles in his 134 appearances and has played in an amazing 12 playoff games. He should bring veteran leadership and heady play to a Ravens defense desperate for answers after surrendering 17+ point leads in two of the past three weeks.
