NFL Rumors: Panthers Turn Down Massive Deal For Star Linebacker

The Carolina Panthers, on the back of a 1-5 start to the 2022 season have moved two of their best offensive players in the past week, and with plenty more talented players on this roster, most people expected them to have a fire sale and move all of their young pieces. There's been rumours that Carolina see a certain set of players as 'untouchable' pieces for the core of their future, and this week, they have apparently made it clear that they will stand firm on that idea.

According to reports from ESPN Insider Adam Schefter, the Panthers have turned down an offer of "at least two first-round draft picks" for star linebacker Brian Burns, just a day after it was revealed the Eagles, Rams and Chiefs were all calling about the Pro Bowl star.

Among the group that Carolina reportedly see as untouchable are D.J. Moore and Jaycee Horn, who have both received interest on the trade market, and it's now becoming clear that if you want Carolina's young pieces, you'll have to pay. In the NFL, no one is truly untouchable, and if a team want to go above and beyond to acquire one of these players for their future, there's always a chance, but right now, it looks like Carolina have a solid core to build around, and won't be moving anyone they don't want too.
