NFL Week 4: Top 3 Rookies

In a league always hungry for new talent, there's nothing so exciting as when a first-year player comes through with a big game. These rookies burst onto the scene in Week 4 and potentially announced themselves as players to watch for the 2022 regular season.
Cornerback Jack Jones, New England Patriots

Perhaps no rookie has had quite so shocking and meteoric a rise as New England Patriots cornerback Jack Jones. After playing progressively more snaps across the first three weeks of the season, Jones earned the first start of his NFL career in Week 4 against the Green Bay Packers. He definitely delivered. Jones returned an Aaron Rodgers interception for a touchdown and even forced a fumble that he recovered himself. Through four games, Jones sports a remarkable 88.5 Pro Football Focus grade. The Patriots appear to have struck gold with their fourth-round pick.

Wide Receiver George Pickens, Pittsburgh Steelers

Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett got all the attention for making his regular season debut against the New York Jets, but it was a different Steelers rookie who truly distinguished himself. Wide receiver George Pickens pulled in six of his eight targets for 102 yards in defeat, finally delivering on an offseason full of hype and promise. Pickens had been piling up highlight reel grabs all season, but Sunday was his first truly impactful game.

Offensive Tackle Jamaree Salyer, Los Angeles Chargers

The sky seemed to be falling last week for the Chargers when left tackle Rashawn Slater went down with a torn biceps in a crushing 38-10 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, but if Week 4 is any indication, they'll be just fine. Jamaree Slayer proved a dependable replacement for the Pro Bowler, blanking opposing pass rushers and earning a 78.6 overall grade from Pro Football Focus in a 34-24 win over the Houston Texans. The Chargers appear to have found a gem with their 195th overall pick.
