Panthers Defensive Coordinator Also Fired

After stumbling out of the gates with Baker Mayfield at Quarterback, there were rumblings that the Carolina Panthers were thinking of making a move at Head Coach, and today, the team officially released Matt Rhule after signing him to a 7-year deal just two years ago. Now, the team has announced that wasn't the only coaching move today, as defensive coordinator Phil Snow was also let go, a sign that the Carolina front office believe their team is much better than what we've been seeing on Sunday's.

This opens the door for the Panthers run game coordinator Al Holcomb to take over in the role, and with the talent that Carolina possess, there's a good chance that these changes could improve the team going forward. Carolina are giving up 356 yards per game to go along with 24 points per game, and if the offence can't be as effective as the team desires, then that's just not good enough to win in the NFL.

The team gave up 37 points to San Francisco on Sunday, and with all the unrest in the locker room, it made sense to make the move today, and if this defence can start performing, there's no reason that the Panthers can't start winning some games and being competitive throughout the rest of the 2022 NFL season.
