Patriots QB Pushing For A Return In Week 5

The New England Patriots Quarterback position has been a nightmare for Head Coach Bill Belichik over the last week or so, as Mac Jones was ruled out with a high ankle sprain, leading to Brian Hoyer starting against the Packers, before also being injured, leading to Bailey Zappe finishing out the game. At this point in time, it doesn't look to be settling down anytime soon, but if Jones has his way, he will be back in Week 5, as the Patriots look to dig out of the 1-3 hole they've found themselves in.

The high-ankle sprain suffered by Jones was meant to keep him out for several weeks, but right now, the second year QB is back at practice, and is pushing to be the teams starter for Week 5 as they battle the ultra talented Detroit Lions.

Right now, it's being seen as day-to-day, but if Jones can practice all week and the team is confident in his ability to not further aggravate the injury, it would make sense if he was under centre yet again. Ultimately, this one is very likely to go down to the wire, but if New England want to get back into a Wild Card hunt in 2022, the bottom line is that they need Jones in at QB, so we will see how this story rolls on as we head into Week 5.
