Vikings Safety To Have Surgery In London

The New Orleans Saints and Minnesota Vikings opened Sunday's action in Week 4 with a thrilling contest in London, which was won by the Vikings after the double-doink field goal attempt by Will Lutz didn't go through, but the Saints weren't the only team on the day to suffer some bad news.  Rookie safety Lewis Cine was taken from the field with what is being categorized as a lower leg fracture, and was rushed to a local hospital in London, where he is to have surgery today.

Devastatingly, the injury took place with less than two minutes to go in the victory that saw Minnesota head to 3-1 on the season, and for a rookie who has shown so much promise early in the 2022 campaign, this is perhaps the worst news possible. The Vikings have been off to a good start, with Cine playing a key role on this defence, and with such a tough schedule ahead, it would be dreadful to see the promising rookie miss time.

At this point, Cine will remain in London until doctors see fit to allow him to return to Minnesota, and while injuries do happen, this one just happened at the worst possible time for a promising young player that was starting to really find his footing at the NFL level.
