Eagles Place Rookie On Injured Reserve

The Philadelphia Eagles have been the hottest team in the NFL through 8 weeks, with a perfect 7-0 record to start the year, and while they've avoided big time injuries for the most part, unlike other teams, today, they've had to place standout rookie defensive tackle Jordan Davis on Injured Reserve, meaning that he will miss at least the teams next four games.

Earlier today, the 2022 first-round draft pick was ruled out of tomorrow night's clash with the Houston Texans, and just a matter of hours later, the team officially placed him on Injured Reserve, as he is dealing with a high ankle sprain. Many other teams have allowed players to avoid IR with such an injury, but given how young Davis is, coupled with how deep they are along the defensive line, it makes sense for them to go the safe option and allow him the maximum amount of time to return.

Davis hasn't had the statistical output that some expected before the season began, but his impact on the team is felt each and every week, and while they'll survive without him, when he does return, this defensive line will be elite.
