Injury Update On Former 1st-Round Pick Dolphins Cornerback

He's still not able to practice.

Miami Dolphins cornerback Byron Jones is not expected to return to practice this week.

Head coach Mike McDaniel said Monday that he's ''hopeful and optimistic'' that Jones will return and play at some point this season, though he will not be back practicing this week.

Jones has yet to make his season debut, as he continues to recover from offseason Achilles surgery.

In 16 games last season, the thirty-year-old recorded 58 total tackles, one forced fumble and 10 passes defended.

His next chance to make his season debut will come on December 4th against the San Francisco 49ers, but that appears highly unlikely. Jones is a former first-round pick by the Dallas Cowboys in the 2015 NFL Draft.
