Key Buccaneers Return to Practice

Despite an up-and-down start to the regular season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers find themselves at the top of the NFC South standings, and they should have some reinforcements for the stretch run. Wide receiver Russell Gage, offensive lineman Luke Goedeke, and defensive back Logan Ryan were all spotted at Monday's post-bye practice. Gage has been unavailable since the Bucs' Week 7 21-3 loss to the Carolina Panthers. Ryan injured his foot in the team's Week 4 41-31 loss to the Chiefs and hasn't been seen since. Goedeke started the first seven games of the season for the Bucs before injuring his foot against the Panthers.

Gage joined the Bucs this past offseason as arguably their biggest free agent splash, signing a three-year, $30 million deal with the team after four years with the Atlanta Falcons. Ryan signed on a much more modest one-year, $1.12 million deal, but he has impressed in his four appearances, allowing a 60.8 passer rating on throws in his direction. Goedeke was the Bucs' 57th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

At 5-5, the Bucs have endured a roller coaster beginning to the season, but they appear well positioned now for the back half of the schedule. The team pulled out a deceptively dominant 21-16 win over the NFC West-leading Seattle Seahawks in Week 9, showing promise on both sides of the ball.
