Jets Confirm Rookie Tackle To Return To Practice This Week

The New York Jets have been one of the surprise teams in the NFL thus far in 2022, and most of that comes due to the play of their young stars, and while Sauce Gardner, Breece Hall and Garrett Wilson get all of the attention, the Jets draft class goes beyond that.

Jermaine Johnson and Michael Clemons have both been effective in limited playing time along the defensive line, and before his injury, tackle Max Mitchell was putting together a solid season after being thrust into the starting role due to injuries to George Fant, Duane Brown and Mekhi Becton. Unfortunately, he suffered a knee injury and has missed a significant amount of time, but now, Head Coach Robert Saleh has announced his return from Injured Reserve, and while he may not get the starting role back immediately, you have to believe that is in his future.

The Jets, coming off the bye week will take on the New England Patriots in Week 11, and with a 6-3 record, they have a chance to take a share of first place in the AFC East with a victory, so getting Mitchell and hopefully others back in coming weeks will help this playoff push, that very few at the beginning of the year saw coming.
