Lions Rookie Wide Receiver Returns to Practice

The Detroit Lions could finally see one of the jewels of their 2022 NFL Draft class in action this week. The team announced that wide receiver Jameson Williams will practice today ahead of their Thanksgiving matchup with the Buffalo Bills. Williams has yet to see regular season action in the NFL after tearing his ACL in the 2022 NCAA College Football Playoff National Championship in January. Despite the devastating injury and the long rehab it was certain to necessitate, the Lions drafted Williams 12th overall in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Williams joins the Lions following a breakout season with the Alabama Crimson Tide that saw him haul in 79 receptions for 1572 yards and 15 touchdowns. The surprising 4-6 Lions should benefit from him his length and smooth route-running as soon as he's up to speed. The Lions rank eighth in scoring through 10 games, and they could jump another level if Williams hits the ground running.
