NFL Reveals AFC Players of the Week for Week 12

The NFL announced its AFC Players of the Week for Week 12, and they include a running back who played a game for the ages and a defender who came through in the clutch on Thanksgiving. Without question, the star of the week was Las Vegas Raiders running back Josh Jacobs. Focusing on his spectacular 86-yard game-winning run in overtime somehow undersells how excellent he was in his team's 40-34 win over the Seattle Seahawks. Jacobs rushed for 229 yards and two touchdowns on 33 carries and added another six receptions for 74 yards. His 303 yards from scrimmage last week were a career-best, a franchise record, and the eighth-most in a game of all time.

On defense, Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Ed Oliver earns recognition for stuffing the stat sheet in a hard-fought 28-25 win over the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving. Oliver totalled six tackles, two tackles for loss, one sack, a safety, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery on only 46 snaps. The Bills needed every one of those crucial plays; they duelled all day long with the feisty Lions, only narrowly winning the game on a field goal as time expired.

As for special teams, Los Angeles Charges punter JK Scott gets the nods for his field-position flipping kicks in his team's thrilling 25-24 win over the Arizona Cardinals. He averaged 39 yards on his six punts.
