Packers Sign Veteran Receiver To Practice Squad

The story and struggles of the Green Bay Packers in 2022 has centred mainly around one issue, and that's their lack of weapons on the outside, and issue which has been exaggerated by the fact that they've suffered multiple injuries to the position through 10 weeks.

Today, they designated Randall Cobb to return to practice from Injured Reserve, while also releasing Amari Rodgers, and to follow that up, they've also signed veteran wide receiver Dede Westbrook to the practice squad. In 5 years at the NFL level, Westbrook has racked up 170 catches for 1,788 yards and 9 Touchdowns, and while he's not going to step on to the active roster and become a key contributor immediately, this is a fantastic depth signing for Green Bay.

Green Bay have a very tough schedule coming up, and unless they can get red-hot, this team has no chance of the playoffs, and while Westbrook may not be the saviour for the Packers, he could be a very solid piece for them going forward.
