Raiders Sign Veteran Linebacker To Practice Squad

Today has been an absolute whirlwind for the Las Vegas Raiders, as they've placed two of their biggest offensive weapons on Injured Reserve, as well as seeing one of their starting linebackers announce his shock retirement from the NFL, so naturally, they've had to make a move to fill that void.

That replacement comes in the form of veteran Reggie Ragland, a Super Bowl Champion with the Chiefs who has also played in Buffalo and Detroit, as well as spending all 17 games with the New York Giants a year ago. In 5 seasons, Ragland has played in 75 games, racking up 278 tackles, 3.5 sacks, 1 interception, 2 fumble recoveries and 1 forced fumble, and will slot in perfectly as a replacement for Blake Martinez.

Ragland has initially been signed to the practice squad, but given that Martinez played 63% of the snaps in their Week 9 loss, it shouldn't be long until he gets to the active roster and starts contributing as the starter he's been for the majority of his career.
