Saints Place Star Receiver On Injured Reserve, Season Likely Over

The New Orleans Saints season has been a struggle thus far in 2022, and while their struggles can't all be narrowed down to injuries, they've played a massive role, and today, they've made the decision to place star receiver Michael Thomas on Injured Reserve.

Thomas has been limited to just 3 games thus far in 2022, and in that time, he hauled in 16 catches for 171 yards and 3 Touchdown's, but due to the injury he's been dealing with all year, the team had to shut him down going forward. Head Coach Dennis Allen anticipates that Thomas won't play again in 2022, but if they can get Jarvis Landry healthy along with rookie Chris Olave, they still have a chance to turn the season around.

Thomas hasn't played a full season since 2019 when he set the NFL record for receptions in a season, logging just 10 games in the three seasons since that point, and now, it's tough to see where his future in the NFL lays going forward.
